In most of Paynesville, reliable internet is a luxury. Electricity flickers. Yet inside the Digital Academy classroom at Champion Academy, students are learning to type, research, and solve problems on real computers.
The secret is SmartBox: an offline-first learning platform that stores curriculum, teacher resources, and digital lessons locally, so class can run even when the connection cannot. When power or connectivity returns, the system syncs. When it doesn't, learning continues anyway.
For many students, this classroom is their first time touching a keyboard. Teachers walk students through the basics first, then build toward research skills, digital literacy, and confidence with the tools that will shape the economy they are growing into.

The Digital Academy now serves students across two campuses, led by Liberian teachers and administrators. Heart In Heaven's role is to fund the tools and training; the vision and daily work belong to local leaders.
Digital education is one of the three pillars of Launch Liberia, alongside the Fuel First meal program and church-based savings groups. Together they aim at the same goal: opening doors that poverty would otherwise keep closed.
