Who They Are
Christ Care Foundation (CCF-SL) is a faith-based, community-rooted organization serving orphans and other vulnerable children in Bo City, Sierra Leone. Founded in 2019, CCF works to strengthen children’s daily well-being and future prospects through practical care, educational support, and Christian nurture.
The Work
CCF’s work includes educational assistance, school meals and household food support, clothing, basic medical and first-aid assistance, counseling, spiritual nurture, and support for children living with caregivers. Its broader child-protection work also includes family tracing and reunification where appropriate, with the goal of helping children grow within safe care while gaining education, stability, dignity, and greater opportunity.
Heart In Heaven’s Relationship
Heart In Heaven’s relationship with Christ Care Foundation extends beyond financial support. Our ongoing partnership includes program and financial reporting documenting how support is used, and our founder personally visited CCF in Sierra Leone in 2025—meeting founder/director Abigail M. Kamanda and children served and seeing the work firsthand. During that visit, CCF also presented a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing Heart In Heaven’s partnership support of its December 2024 gifts and feeding program.
Impact in Action — School Access
One small gift can remove a very practical barrier. CCF’s education-support reporting documents $60 from Heart In Heaven used for school uniforms, bags, books and supplies, school fees, footwear, rulers, and erasers for two girls. That support helped make school attendance possible for them.

CCF represents the kind of locally led work Heart In Heaven’s Global Impact pathway is designed to help strengthen: ministry rooted close to the people it serves, able to direct resources toward practical needs that help vulnerable children remain nourished, equipped, cared for, and connected to education and Christian community. HIH’s ongoing relationship adds continuing communication, reporting, and firsthand connection to that support.
